My book review of the Hobbit:
Title: The Hobbit. Author: John Ronald Reul Tolkien [J. R. R. Tolkien]. Illustrator:JRR Tolkien
Fiction Genre: Fantasy and adventure. Rating: 5 stars out of 5 stars
The main characters are Bilbo Baggins,Thorin Oakenshield and Gandalf the Grey [a wizard]. These are only 3 of all the many characters. If I gave you all of them you would probably die of boredom hearing all of their names. Anyway, Bilbo is a hobbit who hated adventures and liked the quiet life in the shire. He would always complain and say that adventures always make you late for tea! But when an unexpected Gandalf comes knocking on his door, Bilbo’s whole life is changed as he goes on an amazing, frightening, thrilling and sometimes sad adventures (with moments of humour of course).
Bilbo is chosen by Gandalf to do things altogether unexpected: battling spiders, stealing a ring [read the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to find out more] and killing goblins. He joins Thorin Oakenshield and other brave and funny dwarves. They are dwarves with some kind of blood relations with Thorin or are very close to him. He is the important dwarf because he is the grandson of the old king under the mountain, Thror. Thror died a long time ago soon before Thorin’s dad died. Thorin tries to go back to his [now that his grandfather and father are gone] mountain. Along with all the dwarves and Bilbo they try to avenge his gold from a dragon who stole it and slept in the mountain. He was Smaug the dragon.Gandalf helps them nearly all the way for he had some other very important adventures to go to and business to talk about with his fellow wizard friends and elves of high importance.
I hope you read this book and enjoy it because it was a thrilling adventure for me! Hope you go there and back again…
Question: why do you think I named this blog ‘There and back again..’?
